The 40Ready partners finally came together for the purpose of finalizing their regional action plans last 29th and 30th March, in Namur (Belgium). The final version of the AP, revised at the beginning of the semester, was presented to the partnership with the last but important changes made.

On the first day, Isabelle Quoilin, General Manager of Public Service Wallonia, welcomed partners, stakeholders, and online participants.

Participants were shown a presentation with a virtual study tour of the TechnoCampus Competence Center and the SIF 400 demonstrator located in Gosselies.

Afterwards, activities continued as scheduled on the agenda with a series of study visits to the following locations:

  • Damoulin Aero company: Dumoulin Aero employs more than 40 people specifically trained to operate modern machines and equipment and has the capacity to perform a broad range of operations from turn-milling and milling mostly for connection parts between Tracks and Flaps and Tracks and Slats as well as Carriages.
  • Technifutur competence center: The Centre offers training courses based on 3 branches of activity: digital, industry and automotive engineering, while also focusing on human capital through soft skills training. It is aimed at job seekers, schools (Technikid's & TechniTeen's programmes and STEM awareness) and companies.
  • SIRRIS research center: Sirris is the collective centre for the technology industry and offers three important advantages to Belgian companies that want to innovate: long experience and expertise in a wide range of sectors, 150 experts and a high-tech infrastructure spread throughout the country, and a network of partners throughout the country. Sirris can thus help both large and small players in Belgian industry to make the right technological choices for sustainable economic prosperity.
  • CITIUS engineering company: With leading-edge skills in the field of electro-mechanics and Industry 4.0, the CILYX Group specialises in the consultancy and development of production equipment and special machines for various sectors of industry and the life sciences

Two highly engaging real-world cases of implementation of Industry 4.0 technology in SMEs were experienced, namely the Damoulin Aero company that produces high-precision components for aeronautics, and Citius Enginneering that produces custom mechanical solutions for industrial process automation and robotics. Very interesting study visits also included Technifutur's training facilities and the Sirri research center, both of which provide valuable services to SMEs in the region.

The second day of the meeting focused on the project activities of the project partners only, who presented their individual Action Plans following the adjustments they had been asked to make.

Finally, the next activities were planned and it was decided to organize the final event of Phase 1 in Pamplona (Navarra, Spain) from May 31 to June 1.

On the 40Ready Twitter account are made available pictures of the partnership activities.
