THE TOURING EXHIBITION «FISHING COMMUNITIES’ HERITAGE» HAS ARRIVED TO MALLORCA ISLAND

Sustainability and Environment Department at Consell de Mallorca hosts the CHERISH photo exhibition «Fishing Communities’ Heritage» in Mallorca island as part of the events that take place all over Europe to celebrate European Maritime Day 2021.

Consell de Mallorca’s representatives and CHERISH stakeholders officially opened the exhibition at the Maritime Museum of Sóller on the 21st of May. It will be open until the 13th of June and then move on to the municipality of Kavala, Greece -another CHERISH partner.

The exhibition showcases the overall winner and regional winners of the CHERISH photo competition «Fishing Communities’ Heritage» organized by EUCC-D in 2019, and other stunning photos relevant to the topic. It will tour CHERISH regions to give visibility to the richness, variety and importance of the cultural heritage in European fishing communities. The photos on display include traditional celebrations, fishermen at work, boats and tools, and provide a truthful impression of fishing heritage.
