The next regional meeting of the CircPro project stakeholders in Kymenlaakso (Finland) will be held online on 27.11.2020.

The Region of Kymenlaakso aims to become carbon neutral by 2040. The region of Kymenlaakso is also a member of the Towards Carbon Neutral Municipalities (Hinku) network and commits to an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from 2007 levels by 2030. During the stakeholders’ meeting, Anna-Riikka Karhunen, an Environmental Planner from the Regional Council of Kymenlaakso, and Marita Melkko, a Procurement Specialist in the City of Kouvola and a KEINO Change Agent, will share their views on how circular public procurement can contribute to achieving carbon neutrality in the region.

The programme will also include sharing of the latest project developments as well as discussion on what measures (targets in regional strategies, instruments for measuring achievement of targets, tools for public procurers and businesses, capacity building measures, information sharing etc.) are needed in order to implement circular public procurement in the region. The results of the discussion with local stakeholders will serve an important input for development of an action plan for promotion of circular public procurement in Kymenlaakso to be prepared within the CircPro project.
