From 8th to 10th July 2021, Barcelona held one of its great musical events: Cruïlla Barcelona Summer Festival. This year, together with a first-class musical, art and comedy offer, Cruïlla innovated in its gastronomic offer and became the meeting point for the local gastronomic products.

Welcome to the Gastroteca by Cruïlla!

In this last edition of the festival, Cruïlla and Gastroteca.cat, the Prodeca’s reference search engine for local food and producers, partnered up to unveil a gastronomic proposal built around three main axis: proximity, quality and diversity. This was conceivable with the collaboration of Prodeca which helped put food truck companies participating in Cruïlla Festival in contact with Catalan local producers to facilitate business and trade relations between them.

Cruïlla had a “Gastroteca food area” where 35 food trucks, all of them offering food from Catalan farmers and producers, ensured the presence of local, seasonal and quality products in the festival, in many cases with ecological certification. And, of course, with a menu full of options for everyone, with suitable options for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-intolerant people. This culinary offer also met with wines from the territory represented under the slogan ‘Catalonia, Land of Wine’ thanks to the collaboration with the Catalan Institute of Vine and Wine (INCAVI).

The transformation of this festival gastronomic offer is part of the Prodeca’s strategy to promote local food and gastronomic heritage through the new brand “Catalonia where food is culture” and to the implementation of the EUREGA Action Plan “Apats Catalunya: Encouraging regional policies to increase the percentage of local agri-food products in public food procurement”.
