On December 5th, Cáritas Coimbra hosted the second gathering of Stakeholders (LAG) on the EU_SHAFE project. The meeting intended to continue the work of the first meeting, which took place on October 23rd at the CCDR Centro, hosting the organisations that could not attend on that date.

Cáritas Coimbra is one of the 10 partners from 7 European countries enabling Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments (EU_SHAFE). This project is co-funded by the Interreg Europe program and aims to influence and improve policies and practices in European regions through a comprehensive approach on SHAFE. For this purpose, the 1st Stakeholder Meeting was held, formalizing the establishment of a local action group (LAG) that encompasses several entities of Portugal’s Centro Region with interest in these thematic areas and capable of adding value to the policy influence that the project can bring to citizens.

The meeting was attended by 6 new entities that add to the group of other 17 organisations that participated in the first session, thus constituting a large and varied stakeholder group. The new participants had the opportunity to better understand the aims and scopes of the EU_SHAFE project in detail, with space to clarify any doubts, discuss the needs and challenges felt in the Region at SHAFE level and provide further examples on good practices.

These two meetings are very important for the project implementation and dissemination, as well as to contribute to the definition of the Plan of Action of the project in Portugal.
