Regional Stakeholder Group established in Kristiansand.

On the 12th of December 2020, the City of Kristiansand held its first Regional Stakeholder (RSG) Meeting.

Experts from South Norway European Office, Innoventus Sør, University of Agder, Business Region Kristiansand, Connect Norway, Kristiansand Chamber of Commerce, Sørlandets kompetansefond, CoWorx, Innovation Norway and the City of Kristiansand have been introduced to the GRESS project and its objectives and acknowledged the necessity to improve the conditions for green Start-up-support in South Norway.

For Kristiansand, the main objective of GRESS is to enhance its Strategic Business Plan by:

  • developing incubators and contributing to an efficient support system for (green) start-ups;
  • promoting access to venture capital for entrepreneurs in the early phases, and by
  • encouraging start-ups with the potential for solving societal challenges related to the shift towards a low-carbon economy.

A crucial aspect of this process is better interaction among players within the business support ecosystem.

Participants agreed to develop a model for cooperation and set out the next steps.

The first action point for the upcoming weeks, the RSG will prepare a working document, concerned with the state of play of the business climate in the region.
