The iWATERMAP project from the INTERREG EUROPE program, with the support of the South Moravian Region, ends the 5th semester of its implementation and enters the last semester before the sustainability phase.

A project meeting of all international partners was due to current pandemic situation of COVID-19 realized in online form. Czech stakeholders and representatives participated in presenting practices of sludge management in Latvia, automatic monitoring and control systems for the wastewater treatment process in the city of Riga, the use of artificial intelligence for industrial wastewater treatment, digitization of operating systems and recycling of gray water using the Hydraloop system.

The regional meeting of the Czech project partners and interested stakeholders in the iWATERMAP project also took place online in October 2020. The meeting was attended by representatives of the South Moravian Region, Director of the Department of the Environment and representative of the Department of Education, as well as representatives of Mendel University in Brno, the Regional Development Agency of South Moravia, the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute and many others.

During the regional meeting, the European program Horizon Europe, COST (Cooperation in Science and Technology) and Erasmus 2021 - 2027 were presented, where is possible to use co-financing for companies under the program KA2 - Cooperation between organizations and institutions. The program also includes activities in the framework of cooperation creation of partnerships, partnerships for the promotion of excellence, partnerships for innovation, online platforms and virtual cooperation tools. Subsequently, the Water4ALL platform was introduced, a form of partnership aims at responding to the need to ensure water for all and to support changes in the system across the whole spectrum of water innovation research. Furthermore, efforts to support networking and "matchmaking" by solution providers to ensure water safety. The first project calls are expected at the end of 2021.
