On July 14, 2022, the sixth and last stakeholder meeting within the PLASTECO project took place in Augsburg. The content of the meeting was a review of the last three years in the project and a look into the future. In particular, the stakeholder meetings and the knowledge gained from them were discussed intensively, but the good networking within the group was also actively addressed. The regular meetings of various stakeholders from the Augsburg region resulted in a lively exchange that would not have existed without the project. The Augsburg regional group, which consists of Dr. Norbert Stamm (City of Augsburg), Sylvia Schaab (Forum Plastic Free), Melanie Dörfler and Ingrid Heider (both AWS), was praised as a very positive result of the project.
The second phase of the project, the so-called "implementation phase", will start on August 1st, 2022. Here, the content gained in project phase I is implemented in the city of Augsburg using the action plan that has been drawn up. You can find the action plan on the PLASTECO website in the library section. The discussion on the implementation of the defined goals was also part of the 6th stakeholder meeting. In the detailed discussion, some important planning steps could already be defined and binding agreements on responsibilities for the respective implementation goal were made. UCB is ready for phase II.
