In the framework of the SHREC project, SHREC project partner AURA-EE has launched a legal study in 2022 about the legal models that could be used to involve citizens in renewable heat projects.

This document is the result of work carried out within the framework of the European SHREC project, whose main objective is to encourage citizen involvement in the production of renewable heat.

The SHREC project aims to increase the share of renewable energy in energy production by encouraging and facilitating the production and use of renewable energy by businesses, communities, and households.

In the autumn of 2021, a study was entrusted to a team made up of the firm's KAIROS Ingénierie and Richer & Associés Droit Public to explore the arrangements (legal and operational modalities) that would facilitate the involvement of citizens in thermal renewable energy projects.
