From 2019 to 2023, 40Ready partners progressed and finalised their interregional cooperation to achieve the overall goal: to better prepare SMEs by promoting a coherent line of development for the I4.0 revolution. It was not only about promoting research and technological development but also about changing the cultural mindset, preparation, and competencies.
In this perspective, 40Ready partners and their regional stakeholders worked together to understand the needs of SMEs in terms of skills and digital maturity, in order to facilitate the work of policymakers in improving policy instruments to address these needs. These policy improvements range from funding I4.0 skills and digital maturity projects to management approaches that create synergies between policy instruments, to strategies that integrate both I4.0 and the focus on SME skills.
Specific regional Action Plans were then developed, resulting from the comparison and exchange of regional good practices (Phase 1), and their implementation and monitoring (Phase 2), which, after a further year of activity, led to the final project event.
This high-level political event will be held on 9 May 2023 in Florence at the Auditorium Innovation Center. It is designed not only to share the results of the project but also to encourage the exchange of future policy perspectives for SMEs in the field of Industry 4.0 and digitisation. The event is aimed at an audience of local/regional authorities, stakeholders from the education and training sector, research institutes, and national and international organisations involved in the decision-making process.
