On three Fridays in March (12.03, 19.03 and 26.03 at 10.30-11.00 CET) the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform organise a series of 30-minute webinars on workplace trainings and work placements to share insights and recommendations on workplace training and how it can help regions retain young talent and increase SME competitiveness.

The sessions will illustrate the effectiveness of programmes where young people are positioned directly into SMEs to solve challenges relevant to the company while also getting valuable working experience. The mini-webinars seek to inspire other regions to set up public-private or triple helix collaboration schemes for positioning students into companies.

On 12 March 2021, 40Ready joined the webinar on "What is workplace training and why is it relevant for regions?". – In this session a keynote speaker from the European Commission. Mr Norbert Schöbel, team Leader for Policy in Action: VET and Adult learning Initiatives (EC DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion) gave an overview of the latest developments on the EU level regarding skills and young talent. Measures that are being considered post-COVID were discussed as well.
