A workshop on the importance of assessing SMEs' skills and digital maturity, organised by OIR POSDRU Bucharest-Ilfov Region, took place on 13th July 2021.

The objective of the event, which took place in a hybrid format, both onsite and online, was to inform the project stakeholders and those interested about the state of the art and about the next steps that will be taken.

Two tools for assessing the skills and digital maturity of SMEs in Romania were also presented by Marius Hărătău, the representative of Factory 4.0.

The workshop was also addressed by Alexandru Bologan, Secretary of State within the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalisation, and Florin Jianu, President of C.N.I.P.M.M.R. who made a significant contribution to the event by raising the level of the proposed content.

The debate was attended by stakeholders and project partners, representatives of the public and private environment, including Cosmin Șerbănescu - President of the National Institute of Internal Control, Amalia Dobrescu - Ministry of Investments and European Projects, Șerban Marian - TUV SUD, Dragoș Iorga - Executive Director of OIR POSDRU BI, representatives of important national clusters and IHLs, other consultants and representatives of the public and private environment.

The debate focused on the importance of assessing the development stage of skills and digital maturity of SMEs in Romania as accurately as possible to harmonise and improve public policies in the field.

The conclusions and proposals resulting from this workshop will be the subject of further analysis in the project and will materialise in proposals to change public policies in Romania, to support SMEs to adapt quickly to the digital transformation.
