On 28th of September the second meeting of regional stakeholders of Silesia Region (P4), entitled "Ecosystem for Industry 4.0 in the Silesian Voivodeship", was held online.

The aim of the meeting was to present the results of the study on the analysis of the needs in the field of key competences of SMEs in the Silesian Voivodeship according to Industry 4.0 and the assessment of the level of readiness for Industry 4.0 in terms of resources in enterprises, business environment institutions and research and development institutions. During the meeting, the scenarios for building an ecosystem to support digital transformation processes in enterprises and public sector units in the Silesian Voivodeship in the 2021-2027 perspective were also discussed.

The meeting was chaired by the research contractor. A representative of Silesia Region team presented the scope of work performed so far in the 40Ready project. The meeting was attended by representatives of scientific and research units, business support institutions, clusters, the Network of Regional Specialist Observatories, and units of regional self-government.

After the end of all presentations, a moderated discussion was held on the experience to date and possible directions of activities in the field of digital transformation in enterprises and public sector units in the Silesian Voivodeship. The role of Business Support Institutions in the process of implementing the idea of Industry 4.0 was also discussed. Stakeholders noted the need to support and develop the so-called “soft services” and strengthening information and promotion activities. The role of creating integrated databases was also emphasized. One of the most important actions necessary to be undertaken was the support and development of BSI staff and infrastructure for the provision of services for SMEs.
