The policy learning session was dedicated to four issues:

  • Review  of work done during the first semester with regional presentations and discussion among the participants;
  • Initiation of two interregional working groups (IWG:s) – opening up the concept of innovation infrastructures (IWG1) and framework for longer term strategic cooperation between partner regions (IWG2);
  • Site visit to CEEI Burgos as demonstration of a good practice on innovation infrastructures;
  • Session dedicated to building synergies with the Lagging Regions project  run by the JRC of DG Regio;

During the second interregional policy learning session we have been able to make a sort of exposition of tasks centered on action plans and exchange on policy learning issues in relation to good practices. We also brought up the concept of innovation maps as tools for identifying the potential of the regions to absorb innovation and therefore to implement RIS3.
