Part 2 of the 3rd Interregional Learning Event (ILE) of the CAPonLITTER project took place in person, between 26 - 28 May 2022.

The event was organized by the Croatian Partner, PP3 - IRENA-Istrian Regional Energy Agency and it was organized in the City of Pula.

Because of the pandemic situation, the first part of the event took place online in October 2020 but at the beginning of 2022, the COVID-19 restrictions changed in certain regions of Europe, and the partners started organizing Study Visits within the CAPonLITTER Project. The Project Partners were invited to choose the Croatian Good Practices they would like to visit in person, from all the ones presented throughout the different Interregional Learning Events.

Following the partner's preferences, the program was divided into three thematic units. On the first day, a demonstration of the BlueBag initiative of the association Obala naših unuka was organized. BlueBag is an ecological tourism program designed for boaters, tourists and all nature lovers, which aims to encourage volunteer cleaning of the coast from debris. The second day of the study visit was reserved for a tour of Brijuni National Park with expert guidance, with the aim of presenting waste management activities in protected Natura 2000 areas. On the third and last day of the visit, the participants of the study visit visited the Pula Aquarium with the aim of presenting the activities of the aquarium in dealing with marine waste, especially in dealing with plastic waste that threatens various forms of marine life.
