Impact Factory Opens Her Door - CECI final dissemination event of Phase 1 in Mechelen, Belgium
On March 26 and 27, 2022, the Impact Factory opens her doors to welcome all citizens of Mechelen and visitors. One can meet the local initiators from circular economy solutions, and explore the potential of circular economy for daily life, thanks to hands-on workshops and information. Entrepreneurs interested to work within the Impact Factory can visit the Studio of the Impact Factory, a (co-work) office space for impact entrepreneurs.
Impact Factory is the circular hub of Mechelen, which will give space to 100-150 entrepreneurs and many circular initiatives from the citizens of Mechelen upon renovation (starting in 2023). To realize the Impact Factory, the city of Mechelen – partner of the CECI-project – has made an agreement with the real estate agency Miss Miyagi who has bought an adjacent office building which has been vacant for years next to the Potterij. The Potterij is a former industrial laundry in the interior city, which is located strategically between the railway station and central shopping quarter of Mechelen and which has been sanitized for years by OVAM, in view of a brownfield reconversion.
