Interregional Meeting Interreg Europe CECI Zaragoza (Aragón)

5-6 May 2022

The fifth interregional meeting of the Interreg Europe CECI project, scheduled for autumn 2021, had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation and will finally be held on 5 and 6 May 2022 in the city of Zaragoza.

Sponsored by the Directorate-General for Climate Change and Environmental Education, the participants will learn first-hand about the Government of Aragon and from the group of stakeholders who developed good practices identified throughout the implementation of the CECI Project.

On Thursday afternoon, there will be a visit to Utebo wardrobe, a citizens' initiative to collect clothes and donate them to families at risk of social exclusion. There will also be a presentation of the actions included in the Government of Aragon's Action Plan, which will be implemented in phase 2 of the project.

Friday will be dedicated to learning about two good practices of the Government of Aragon, focused on environmental awareness and the promotion of participation: the Urban Environment Classroom and the Forum for Transparency and Active Listening with Local Entities.

The city council of Zaragoza will show us the school gardens composting project that has been set up in the city's schools, at the CEE Rincón de Goya.

Finally, three initiatives from the third sector will show us good practices in waste prevention: the website Alargascencia (Friends of the Earth), which hosts a directory of rental, repair, barter and second-hand product establishments, and two projects for the selective collection, donation and sale of second-hand clothing and other textiles, run by the social inclusion companies Aropa2 and A Todo Trapo.
