The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
This year, the EWRC is organized from the 7th to the 10th of October at Brussels Square Conventional Center at Mont des Arts. The project CESME - Circular Economy for SMEs, funded by the INTERREG EUROPE Programme, was selected by the organizational committee of EWRC 2019 in order its core results to be presented, during a specially dedicated workshop.
More specifically, on the 8th of October at the conventional center of SQUARE (room 213 -215), at 16.30, a discussion will take place where good practices will be presented on how the Regions can shape policies and develop strategies for circular economy, focusing on the Region of Central Macedonia and the Metropolitan City of Bologna, and the growth challenges and potentials that circular economy generates for SMEs.
The discussions will be joined by Mrs. Chrysathi Kiskini, Head of the Department of EU Projects of the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia, Mrs. Valeria Stacchini, Project Manager, from the Metropolitan City of Bologna, Mrs. Georgi Stefanov, Coordinator of the Climate Change and Green Economy Programme at WWF Bulgaria and Mrs. Maria Antikainen, Senior Scientist and Project Manager from the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. In the beginning of the event, Mr. Erwin Siweris, Director of the INTERREG EUROPE Programme will present the Interreg Europe Programme advancements.
During EWRC 2019, at the exhibition CENTER Agora, within the SQUARE venue, a stand dedicated to CESME will operate where representatives from the Development Agency ANATOLIKI S.A. and the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia will provide information about the project.
