Sibiu County Tourism Association organised the first dissemination event dedicated to the project.
The event gathered more than 100 persons representing the public authorities at the national (The National Authority for Tourism, The Ministry of Environment), regional (The Regional Development Agency Centre) and local level (local administrations); culture and tourism stakeholders, NGOs, representatives of the academic field and mass media. Sibiu CTA succeeded to bring together stakeholders from different backgrounds to exchange ideas and gain perspectives on how to increase the capacity to sustainably use the cultural and the natural assets for responsible tourism. During the day, 23 presentations were delivered, organised in six sections.
The participants reflected on the progress made by the region of Sibiu as a cultural destination and tackled different aspects regarding its future in terms of attractiveness, competitiveness and sustainability. The conclusions were sent to the main public stakeholders, the Municipalities of Sibiu, Mediaş, Biertan and to Sibiu County Council.
