Burgas Municipality organised the 2nd Local Stakeholders Group meeting in Burgas on industrial heritage and tourism, during the second day of the 15th Tourism exhibition “Your Vacation” 2017 in “Flora” Exhibition centre among the discussion panel. The accent of this year’s edition of the exhibition is the role of municipalities in the development of the tourist product, the opportunities for domestic tourism and the tourism staff.
Gergana Ivanova, Local Tourism Expert presented the Industrial heritage assets of Burgas and the opportunities for developing sustainable tourism in the city as a part of the discussion panel.
The presentations and discussions were held in front of the members of Tourism Advisory Council at Burgas Municipality. Members of the Council and CHRISTA stakeholders that participated in the meeting are representatives of Burgas Regional Tourism Association (BRTA), Municipal Enterprise 'Tourism, Deputy Mayor of Burgas for Culture and Education, Chairman of Permanent Commission for Tourism in Burgas City Council, Prof. Doctor Asen Zlatarov from Tourism College, other stakeholder representatives and c Citizens.
At the end of the meeting in connection with request from participants were disseminated all presentations from the CHRISTA Workshop in Sweden on fishing tourism in Burano, tourist re-use of industrial heritage Murano Glass factories, industrial heritage as a platform for cultural routes and tourism, Industrial Tourism Route in Porto and Ave; Industrial heritage of Naoussa; Pafos industrial heritage, Tropolis a place for Culture, leisure and eco-tourism, Industrial heritage in Thessaloniki, Industrial heritage in Vidzeme and Industrial history tourism in Västra Götaland.
