Burgas Municipality organised the 1st dissemination event for the project within the opening of the 15th Tourism exhibition “Your Vacation” 2017 in “Flora” Exhibition centre, organised by Burgas Regional Tourist Association (BRTA) – CHRISTA Stakeholder, with the support of Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria, District Governor of Burgas and Burgas Municipality. The accent of this year’s edition of the exhibition is the role of municipalities in the development of the tourist product, the opportunities for domestic tourism and the tourism staff. New tourist sites and routes were presented in Burgas both to tourist companies as well as to the citizens and guests of the city who are looking for holidays in the country.

Mrs Yordanka Ananieva, Deputy Mayor  for Culture and Education and Chairman of Tourism Advisory Council at Burgas Municipality greeted invited guests and representatives of the society groups and stakeholders coming from Ministry of Tourism, local municipalities, City Council, Municipal enterprises, tourism colleges, other associations and unions, as well as representatives of local media.

She highlighted the importance of the exhibition not only for Bulgarian but also for international guests alike. She also defined the work of Burgas Municipality within the CHRISTA project as an essential to the development of responsible and sustainable tourism in the city. Mrs. Ananieva presented the financial mechanism, CHRISTA project activities and expected results, project partnership, completed works up to this moment, most important activities that will be finished within the project – Strategy for responsible tourism development in Burgas region, as well as highlighted a role and duties in the project 

The meeting continued with an official opening ceremony. During the two-day exhibition, CHRISTA project was presented at the local stand of Municipal enterprise “Tourism”.

Among the participants were CHRISTA project stakeholders, specialists of cultural heritage, tourism experts from Bulgaria, citizens, local press and media.
