On May 25th 2017, the first meeting of stakeholders involved in the project Interreg Europe CircE was held at the headquarters of the Secretariat of Environment and Sustainability of Barcelona. The Director General of Environmental Policy and Environment opened the event. The objectives of the meeting were to present the CircE project, the expected results and the opportunities of partnerships and involvement of stakeholders. Moreover, during the event, the Deputy Director General of Economic Planning presented the funding opportunities for projects on circular economy in the EU and Catalonia. At the end of the session a Circular Economy workshop was carried out in order to encourage and disseminate the concepts of opportunities and barriers among the participants.
Thirty representatives of institutions, technology centres and research companies, foundations and the local government public administrations attended to the meeting. All of them are related to the economic sectors of beverages and textiles, which are the main analysis focus of the Government of Catalonia within the project.
