1 - Who are you? Introduce yourself and your functions in your company in a few lines?
I am Jon Harrison, External Affairs Manager at ADBA, the United Kingdom’s anaerobic digestion and biogas trade association. With our members, we promote the economic and environmental benefits of anaerobic digestion in the UK. We represent organisations from many sectors including AD operators, AD developers, AD equipment providers, water companies, farmers, food & drink retailers, waste companies, universities and more.
2 - Explain us your circular project in a few lines?
We are currently working closely with the Government and local authorities to implement mandatory separate food waste collections in England, which Ministers committed to just before Christmas. This is a policy ADBA has long campaigned for and will make a real difference in boosting recycling rates and supporting the growth of the British biogas industry.
3 - Did the Circe project allow you to meet interesting partners to optimize/ go on/ develop/ even sell your project?
Yes, Lombardy region and Milan city are world leaders in food collections and their biogas industry is very well developed. I met useful contacts and had some very interesting conversations.
4 - How did you know about the Circe project?
ADBA was invited to participate by our contacts at the London Waste and Recycling Board who we work with on promoting separate food waste collections and wider sustainability issues in the capital.
