The Italian Parliament recently approved the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), which has been submitted on April 30th to the European Commission for its final approval and financing within the Recovery and Resilience Facility of the NextGenerationEU (NGEU), the instrument designed to help rebuild a post-COVID-19 Europe.
The Italian NRRP sets six main pillars of intervention and envisages also enabling reforms including circular economy and the simplification of public contracts code.
The NRRP can contribute to achieving the environmental goals set at the international and EU level also through the use of the most advanced digital technologies, the protection of water and marine resources, the transition to a circular economy, the reduction, and recycling of waste, the prevention of pollution and the protection and restoration of healthy ecosystems. Public spending plays an important role as an industrial policy tool. The simplification of public contract rules and digitization of procedures and management of data can favor the analysis of markets with the aim of stimulating economic operators to circular economy policies.

During the conference, speakers will cover public procurement and other related topics such as green transition, digital transformation, smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, social and territorial cohesion.
