The Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham has set an ambitious target for Greater Manchester to become a carbon neutral and leading green city region in Europe. This event is a workshop on Bringing together all the stakeholders in community energy in the City Region to discuss the development of community energy for Greater Manchester. This work will feed into the Mayor’s Green Summit on 21 March.

The workshop will include a range of members of the community energy sector giving their vision for how the sector can and should grow. There will be workshops to develop a series of ‘asks’ or commitments from local and national government, financial institutions, public sector, regulators, communities etc. that would help the sector to flourish. The day aims to identify practical actions and policies as well as raise the profile of the benefits of community energy as Greater Manchester’s future sustainability policy is being developed. This event will be the first step in developing the COALESCCE Greater Manchester Action Plan
