Andy Burnham set an ambitious target for Greater Manchester to become a carbon neutral and leading green city region in Europe by 2036. Following up on last year’s community energy workshop that developed a vision and series of ‘asks’ from different sectors, we would like to invite you to a workshop to complete Greater Manchester’s Community Energy Action Plan which will feed into the Green Summit #2 later in March.
The workshop will focus on practical Action and Delivery for the next five years.

We will work together to develop a practical Action Plan to scale up and deliver more community energy schemes in Greater Manchester over the next five years.
The approach is participatory, problem solving, and although we may call for policy change, will focus on what’s possible by working together and collaborating. You can think big and be ambitious… it’s up to you. We will be informed by the urgency to reduce CO2 emissions significantly in the next five years. The Action Plan will be monitored by COALESCCE Phase 2 and supported by the GMCA and delivered by us all… let’s show the Green Summit what we can achieve with community energy. Can we deliver 10% of the renewable generation needed by GM in five years?
