The goal of the COCOON project is to develop policy instruments to promote sustainable waste management.
The Dutch COCOON partner, Rijkswaterstaat, managed to realize meaningful changes in 4 parts of the National Waste management Plan (Landelijk Afvalbeheer Plan, LAP3). These changes have been made within the following themes:
- Longterm storage
- Sustainable landfill management
- Redevelopment of old landfills
- Landfill mining
The impact of these changes will be monitored over the coming 2 years.
These accomplishments were shared with the other COCOON partners on 1st of October, during the 10th project partner meeting.
