Beaz Bizkaia hosts partners for the final Cohes3ion event
Following the end of the successful three-year project ten partners from across eight European regions met last week in Bilbao, Spain for the final time.
Over the two days partners attended Bizkaia Orekan Sakonduz annual event to hear about their Innovation Strategy and progress made by the working groups in the region.
On the final day of the visit partners held the closure event for the Cohes3ion project. The hybrid event attracted over 80 delegates from across Europe to hear the partners share their experiences and achievements of refining their frameworks and developing specific instruments to support multi-level governance in their regions.
Key learnings from the day included
• Lesson 1: Improving multilevel governance is urgent, and increasingly more so in the context of the climate crisis
• Lesson 2: Multilevel governance requires a systemic perspective - need to connect not only different levels, but also different types of policies
• Lesson 3: Multilevel governance must become more citizen-focused, developing mechanisms to collaborate effectively with citizens
