The Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, one of the CREADIS3 Project Partners, is organizing an online conference of the Platform for Cultural and Creative Industries next 29 April 2021.

Following the establishment of the Platform for Cultural and Creative Industries in August 2020, the Ministry of Culture continues its activities aimed at supporting the cultural and creative industries (CCIs). One of them is an online conference of the mentioned platform dedicated to the topic of strategic support of CCIs at the state and regional/local level.

The conference thematically follows up on the platform's first online discussion, which took place last December and was attended by state secretaries of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Economy and the representative of the Ministry of Transport and Construction. An important part of the conference will be a moderated discussion on inter-ministerial cooperation in the CCIs, to which several ministries were invited to discuss the position of cultural and creative sectors across the ministries concerned, to point out the need for inter-ministerial cooperation in this area and stress out its importance for economy, foreign or social affairs and environmental stability in the context of sustainable development.

The discussion will be followed by other parts of the program, such as a lecture by foreign expert Ragnar Siil from Estonia on a strategic approach to CCP at the level of local and regional government. It will be followed by a presentation of two examples of good practice from the European regions – partners from the Interreg Europe project – CREADIS3.

The conclusion of the conference will be devoted to further discussion with invited representatives of Slovak cities and regions on the creation of strategic documents for CCIs at the regional/municipal level, in order to point out the need for a systematic approach in CCIs support that has to be based on current needs of the creative ecosystem. Due to the similar initial situation and environmental conditions, representatives from the Czech Republic were also invited to this discussion.

The conference will take place on Thursday 29 April from 09:00 to 13:30.

The conference will be broadcast live via the social network Facebook on the profile Platformy pre kultúrny a kreatívny priemysel.
