On the 26 November 2018, in Rzeszow, within the project CRINMA, it was held a workshop for the regional stakeholders, gathering fifteen representatives of NGO’s, institutions and public bodies from Podkarpackie Region. On the first part of the meeting, introduced by a Director of the Department of Culture and Protection of National Heritage of Marshal Office of the Podkarpackie Region Aleksander Konopek, there were presented some of the good practices i.e.: Route of Vlachs culture presented by Agnieszka Pieniążek from the Association for Development and Promotion of Podkarpacie “Pro Carpathia”, Transcarpathian Archeological and Cultural Route presented by Paweł Madej from Subcarpathian Museum in Krosno. Good practices were presented and commented in context of the subject of workshop – strengthening the local identity based on cultural heritage during a moderated discussions. Paweł Kraus from the Department of Culture and Protection of National Heritage of Marshal Office of the Podkarpackie Region has discussed the subject of cultural heritage of the mountain areas in contemporary architecture and Andrzej Potocki – writer, presented category of “localness” as a helpful tool to describe diverse and complicated ethnic and cultural background for local identity of Carpathians. Among the topics discussed by the workshop’s participants, some were very interesting. Participants highlighted in the comments in particular that ethnic groups which used to live in the Carpathian mountains on the border territory of Podkarpackie Region, disappeared during and after the Second World War. It means that cultural chain was broken. It has a great impact on contemporary thinking about local identity.
