Third CRinMA Transnational Training took place in the Alta Langa (Italy) on 9-10 April 2019. The main topic of the event was promotion and creative transformation of the cultural heritage. The presentations and discussions were focused on Cultural Heritage in Langa:
1. Dry Stone, which means competence, skills and traditions
2. Local produce: hazelnut, cheeses and honey
3. Wine tradition of Grinzane Cavour
The Workshop started with the presentation of the most important attractions of Langa, comprising the harmonious landscape, architecture with ancient roots, cuisine with a history. Representation of crucial organization for the region participated in the meeting: Tourist Agency Langhe Roero, GAL Langhe Roero.
The next part of the workshop allowed participants to get closer to tradition of dry stone. In the course of history stone become an easily available material, useful to build houses, walls, arcs, streets, bridges, castles and churches. Still today dry stone walls or steps and terraced fields are part of the typical landscape. Traditional local architecture is therefore a unique combination of the simplicity of natural stone and the building techniques developed over the centuries.
Project partners and stakeholders from participative regions had also a great opportunity to visit Restoration Church in Mombarcaro, hazelnut factory, and Castello di Grinzane Cavour.
