LAUNCH CONFERENCE

“Cooperation and Integration of Cultural Creative Industries (CCI) and Cultural Creative Tourism (CCT) in Europe” in the frame of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018

13th November, 2018

Latvian National Museum of Art, Riga

The project will start in all partner regions with a first review and analysis of the existing situation in each region, in terms of the number and nature of operating CCIs and their potential for CCT product development. In parallel, the advisory partner will carry out an identification and synthesis of any existing good practices with relevance to CCIs and CCT. Relevant completed and current projects will be reviewed in order to capitalise on their outputs and results, including Interreg Europe projects CHRISTA, Cult-RInG, BRANDTOUR, Destination SMEs), as well as other relevant initiatives and available research results. These reviews and analyses will form the basis of the presentations by each partner and relevant key stakeholders at the launch conference of the project, regarding baseline case studies and state of the art.

The main exchange of experience event of the Cult-CreaTE project during the 1st semester will be a one-day project Launch Conference, to be held in Latvia organised by the lead partner (Vidzeme Tourism Association, LV), with technical assistance by the advisory partner (PP9 ECTN, BE) and contributions by all partners and their key stakeholders.

The main aim of the Launch Conference will be to review existing good practices in both CCIs and CCT and explore ways for cooparation and integration, as far as possible.

The Launch Conference will include initial presentations by each partner regarding a first view on the current situation of Cultural and Creative Industries' (CCIs) nature and activities in the partner regions and their possible potential for Cultural and Creative Tourism (CCT) development. The overall State of the Art and identification of requirements will be presented by the advisory partner and external experts in the specialised field of creative tourism. Other projects related to both CCIs and to CCT will be invited to present their approach and interim results for eventual exploitation and capitalisation. Synergies with other relevant projects and initiatives will also be explored and exploited at all levels. Links with other European networks in the project fiekds and EU institutions will be sought and established, through involvement of guest speakers at the Conference.

The Launch Conference will also serve to set the scene for the exchange of experience/policy learning processes between the partners and stakeholders, through smaller group discussions on particular priority topics related to CCIs activities and CCT development.

The Launch Conference will be included in the frame of European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 (through the advisory partner ECTN that is selected by EC DG EAC as a member of the EYCH2018 Stakeholders Committee).
