The Estonian Information System Authority (RIA), which is the Estonian partner to the CYBER project, hosted the second project partners meeting on12-13 December 2018 in Tallinn, Estonia.

The regional partners had the unique opportunity to get insights into the Estonian cyber security ecosystem, which is considered among the most advanced ecosystems inside the European Union. The two days meetings offered great learning opportunities in view of the Action Plan of the project:

- Welcoming and introduction by RIA – the Estonian Information System Authority is the national entity that coordinates the development and administration of information systems and the incidents in Estonian computer networks.

- Visit to the TTU Innovation and Business Center Mektory – a networking environment where worldwide businesses, students, professors, children, and investors meet to exchange ideas and discuss innovation.

- Visit to the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE), which is a multinational and interdisciplinary centre of cyber defence expertise.

- Visit at the e-Estonia Showroom, an executive briefing centre, which aims to inspire policy-makers, political leaders, corporate executives, investors and international media with the success of e-Estonia and to create connections with the leading IT service providers. During the visit, Estonian local cyber security SMEs, including SpectX, CybExer Technologies, Cybernetica, and Guardtime, presented their services and solutions against cyber threats.

During the meeting, each regional partner introduced its main regional cyber security players, the strengths and weaknesses of their local cyber security ecosystems and also named one regional flagship initiative in the field of cyber security. In addition,  the regional partners shared good practices and experiences, as part of the matchmaking exercises to identify the needs and solutions for the regional cyber security ecosystems.

The next Interreg Europe Cyber project partners meeting will take place at the beginning of June 2019 in Namur, Belgium.
