On September 22nd, the Castilla y León virtually hosted their pioneering 'The Voice of Industry' virtual conference. The event anticipated the preliminary results of a study on the state of cybersecurity in the industry of the Castilla y León region; it was conducted with the Center for Industrial Cybersecurity (CCI), a product of the industry, and whose mission is to promote and improve Industrial Cybersecurity in Spain and Latin America.

This meeting allowed the opportunity to share experiences and lessons learned from different sectors of the industry in Castilla y León by those responsible for cybersecurity at industrial organizations.

During the meeting, the Junta de Castilla y León presented the initiatives it has developed on cybersecurity, with special attention to aspects related to cybersecurity in the industry of the region.

All industrial sectors are making progress in digital transformation and this meeting has addressed how to incorporate cybersecurity in the Life Cycle of an industrial digitization project, as well as experiences in the implementation of industrial cybersecurity measures by specialized providers, targeted at reducing the risks in networks and operational systems. The objective is to evaluate the level of maturity in the cybersecurity of companies in the region, allowing a comparison with other regions of Spain and other countries. The study is still in progress, with the participation of new companies, and a final report will be generated with the results presented.

In the conference, in which CCI presented the first conclusions and ICE (Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León) the regional supports to Cybersecurity and the related European projects. Other relevant entities in this field participated: KAPERSKY, FORTINET, C4IN CyberSecurity Center (Telefonica CyberSecurity TECH – ElevenPaths) and Foundation CIDAUT, and the conference ended with a panel discussion, where those responsible for cybersecurity in the industry shared valuable experiences and challenges on incorporating cybersecurity in their organizations.
