Stara Zagora Regional Economic Development Agency (DeCarb project) in cooperation with Black Sea Energy Research Centre (TRACER project) and David Holding Inc. (GreenDC project) organize the Social Policy Dialogue on the transition towards a low-carbon economy in Stara Zagora District “NEW ENERGY MIX" on 28th September 2020. The event gathers approved experts from Bulgaria and abroad to discuss essential topics for the future of the coal industry in the region in the context of European Green Deal. The discussion consists of 4 thematic panels:
- Economic alternatives after phasing out coal-intensive activities in partner regions
- Expected socioeconomic impact from phasing out coal-driven activities
- Environmental restitution and land restoration needs and possible post-mining land uses
- “New Energy mix"
The low-carbon transition process, if skillfully managed could lead to progress and development, saving the resources of the Planet - the heritage for future human generations.
