The Jahnallee is one of the main traffic axes into Leipzig city center. Hundreds of cars and trucks travel on two lanes per direction between Lindenau and the city center every day. Cyclists also try to reach their destinations on those lanes. They had a better commute on the World Bicycle Day, because, among other things, the Ökolöwe (= »eco-lion«) set up a temporary bicycle lane. According to its own information, the Umweltbund counted 157 cyclists who used the cycle path and were happy about the campaign.

In Jahnallee should only be one lane for cars per direction over the entire length from Waldplatz to Leibnizstraße. At the two traffic light intersections, the two lanes that are still leading straight should therefore be reduced to one per direction.
