On 7th, 8th and 9th March 2017, Design for Innovation partners are coming together for the first project meeting in Bruges. The combined Partnership Meeting and interregional exchange of experience workshop is hosted by Design4Innovation partner - Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
The workshop focusing on Mapping Design Ecosystems will be held on 8th March. We have identified nine ecosystem components: users, support, promotion, education, research, actors, designers, funding and policy. Understanding all aspects of the existing Design Ecosystems is crucial for developing Design Action Plans. Together with invited policy-makers from partner regions we will identify the organisations and initiatives active in the ecosystem and examine the systemic strengths and weaknesses.
This event will also include a study visit to 3 Flemish SMEs that have used design for innovation. This will provide tangible examples of how design can contribute to SME competitiveness.
