DEVISE project partner, Fomento San Sebastian, organized on the 29th October 2020 an online session with local key stakeholders from the retail and hospitality sectors and representatives of invited local ‘digital’ companies to analyse and make a final decision about the actions included in San Sebastian’s Local Action Plan that is being developed within DEVISE. The event took place during the 7th consecutive edition of the Donostia WeekINN, a week full of events in which innovation becomes the main protagonist of the Basque city.
The project session, led by our Basque partners, took place through a virtual platform and attendees focused the debate on the following three actions:
- Action 1 - Awareness and digital training programme, aimed at providing these sectors with the digital knowledge and skills that promote the knowledge and use of the technology.
- Action 2 - Technology Consulting Programme to support digital transformation through an expert digital consulting service that advises companies on the most adapted technology solution for each business.
- Action 3 - Vouchers Programme (economic support) for the implementation of digital solutions and applications.
These actions are the result of a learning process with the rest of the DEVISE partners. They are also a conclusion from the research completed last year with local stakeholders and are part of Fomento’s Digitalization Plan to support the digital transformation in local Retail and Hospitality sectors.
Participants agreed on their relevance to support local economic sectors’ economic activity and digital transformation processes. Furthermore, even if the situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic will require a continued support throughout the next year, these actions respond to real needs in their local context.
Fomento’s representatives declared that this Local Action Plan is a commitment to support companies in the traditional retail and hospitality sectors of San Sebastian city. The main objective is to offer opportunities within the digital framework and provide them an adequate access to the knowledge and solutions that local digital companies are providing.
