On 13 November 2018, lead partners and communication managers of third call Interreg Europe projects gathered in Dublin (Ireland) for a one-day programme full of active learning. The event was held in the city centre at the world-class Convention Centre in the Dublin Docklands.
Programme Director, Erwin Siweris, welcomed over fifty projects on the day to Baile Átha Cliath and discussed briefly the future of interregional cooperation. Following this, Irma Astrauskaite (Communication Coordinator), Petra Polaskova and Miia Itänen (Communication Officers) provided an overview of the communication requirements and reporting information for projects.
Then, Eugene Grey, Director of Education at the European Institute of Communications, provided some valuable tips during the project storytelling session where lead partners and communication managers learned how to shape their project pitch in just thirty words.
This was followed by a very informative and engaging presentation by the lovely Sinéad O’Donnell of Carr Communications, who inspired all attendees to engage more with the media. She provided many helpful tips on how to reach out to journalists and get project stories published.
Afterwards, the very passionate Laura Uotila gave some excellent tips on how to use social media effectively to communicate project activities.
DEVISE project would like to take this opportunity to thank the Interreg Europe communications team for inviting us along, and to the speakers on the day who presented at this very practical and informative event.
We can’t wait to put the copious number of tips we have learned into practice as we continue to build the DEVISE story.
