Due to the current challenges that COVID-19 is creating around the World, many organisations are continuously innovating in order to face the current situation. DEVISE project French partner team Laval Mayenne Technopole inform us about another example of companies that are exploiting the potential that digital technology has as enabler for competitiveness.
In this case, we travel to France, where every year the ‘Laval Virtual’ big exhibition takes place to serve, inform and animate the community of users of VR/AR and immersive techniques. However, because of the pandemic and lockdown situation, instead of cancelling this event, the organisation has decided to use digital technology and online communication channels to replace the physical meetings and workshops with digital events and sessions. From the 22nd to 24th April 2020, ‘Laval Virtual World’ will offer conferences, the Awards ceremony, business meetings and Recto VRso Festival online and for free.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to gather and learn while staying at home”, explains Valérie Moreau, DEVISE project partner and responsible of Pôle Réseaux at Laval Mayenne Technopole. ‘Laval Virtual World’ is an innovative initiative to (re)discover various uses of AR / VR / XR and emerging technologies. Furthermore, Valérie adds that there is also a dedicated application for networking that can be accessed after registering. “We believe that it is an opportunity for companies, in this very special time, to attend inspiring conferences and do some networking while staying at home!”.
Regarding the presence of the DEVISE project during the event, our French partners will book a virtual meeting room, they will organize a regional stakeholder meeting and also, a networking breakfast.
