[news] Planning for e-vehicles’ charging stations

In accordance with the new Greek law for e-mobility, Greece is working on a planning for the location of charging stations for electric vehicles.

The new law for electromobility in Greece, aims to solve the issue of the poor infrastructure of charging stations in Greece. In order to achieve it, all municipalities of the metropolitan centers, the municipalities of the capitals of the Greek regions, and the big and medium size municipalities of the mainland and the islands should create a plan for the location of charging stations within their territory. More specifically, until 31.03.2021, the municipalities belonging to any of the aforementioned categories, are responsible for planning (a) the installation of an adequate number of normal or high power charging stations and (b) parking spaces for electric vehicles. According to the law, there should be at least one charging station per 1.000 residents.

The municipalities, which do not belong to any of the abovementioned categories, should conduct the plan for installing charging stations till 31.03.2022.
