On January 21 and 28 and February 4, 2021, 14.00-15.30 (CET), the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform will organise a webinar trilogy to support cities and regions across Europe in the design of policies to foster urban cycling.

Just like 'Riding a Bike'

In line with the European Green Deal and the Paris Agreement, cycling is a core element of any urban mobility strategy aimed at contributing to improving air quality and at ensuring that transport does its part for reaching carbon neutrality by mid-century.

Moreover, the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy that the European Commission will unveil by the end of the year is expected to translate a forward-looking vision for cycling into specific actions at local and regional level. Due to the pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic, many European cities have already started to invest in the expansion of their cycling infrastructure and in the promotion of cycling as a safe travelling option for their citizens.

This webinar series offers local and regional policy makers as well as city planners and clean mobility managers insights into successful policies for turning our cities into cycling cities.

More

Built on three interconnected thematic blocs, the webinars will explore strategic planning for cycling at city level, address bicycle network and infrastructure development and also look at policies designed to get people ready to bike more.

Participants will have the chance to know more about inspiring solutions and good practices and engage directly in questions and discussions with those who have implemented them as well as with Interreg thematic experts.
