e-smartec partner CUE Ltd participated to the final event of the ERASMUS+ project RUN for HEALTH on October 22, 2020.

The event, titled "The present and the future of road events", was live-streamed and functioned as an occasion to network and interact with attendees on participatory matters.

RUN for HEALTH... and more

The RUN for HEALTH Project is a project financially supported by the ERASMUS+ Sport Action, aiming to show how running events can be used as a mean to promote health-enhancing physical activity.

The Project is co-ordinated by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, which leads a consortium consisting of: Breda University of Applied Sciences, European Association for Sport Management (EASM), European Culture and Sport Organisation (ECOS), KU Leuven, Lithuanian Sport University and Mullier Institute.

Participation through sports

Participatory sport events have been recently proposed as one of the strategies to promote physical activity participation, because of the “sport participation effect”: active participation in sport events can indeed increase physical activity of both active and inactive individuals.

Discussing the trends, technologies, protocols and prospects of road events, and doing so with a focus on the Greek experience which e-smartec shares with the RUN for HEALTH project, was the main objective of the event and resulted in a fruitful discussion.
