The aim of the meeting was to inform the stakeholders involved, coming from Administrative bodies, about the start of the development of cycling in the Natural Park (which covers most of the Province of Huelva's northern area) and the issues encountered, in order to both confirm an official offer of cycling activities and infrastructures in the Park, and create a coherent framework of regulations for cycling activities.

The issues addressed in the meeting were:

  • Information about the ECO-CICLE project, which is the framework in which the works of the cycling strategy take place.
  • The main lines of work in the writing of the strategy, which stand on trying to improve not only sports cycling (MTB), but also family cycling, through infrastructures potentially forbidden to motorized vehicles, as well as long-distance cycling. This would create a low traffic or non-motorized cycling network in the Park.
  • Regarding long-distance cycling and routes, it was also addressed in the meeting how to best take advantage of the presence of EuroVelo 1 - Atlantic Coast Route, which crosses the Park from North to South along its Eastern side.
  • Part of the time of the meeting was also focused on discussing how to coordinate this works with the ongoing writing of the cycling strategy of the Province of Huelva.
