CRES successfully organized the 1st thematic workshop for e-mobility in the framework of EMOBICITY project on 25 September 2019 in Athens. In the workshop participated representatives of national and municipal political leadership, key stakeholders and scientists related to e-mobility, journalists and EMOBICITY project partners.
During the workshop, the Secretary General of the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy Mrs Alexandra Sdoukou emphasized, among other things, the need to further enhance the promotion of electricity through incentives, the utilization of financial tools, and developing the required charging infrastructure. Moreover, President of CRES Dr. Spyros Economou referred to Greece potential to become a forerunner of electricity in Southern Europe, highlighting the role and projects of CRES in the field of clean transport and electricity.
At the Workshop, which was coordinated by the lead project manager, Head of the Department of Environment and Transport, Mrs. Maria Zarkadoula, representatives from National Technical University of Athens, from the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator, from the University of West Attica and from Germany's North Hess GmbH Regional Agency presented the framework of the Electricity market for electric motors in Greece, referred to issues of management, distribution network, network stability, energy pricing, the possibility of installing shared stations electric cars, etc. The workshop was followed by a demonstration study tour in the University of Western Attica and the Agricultural University of Athens, where participants were guided to autonomous PV recharging stations for electric vehicles and toured by electric bus and electric bicycles.
