Verena is in charge of supporting applicants, assessing applications and monitoring projects achievements. She is also involved in the policy learning platform related to Low-Carbon Economy.

Verena joined the secreatariat in January 2013. She first completed an internship in the Project team, than supported the Finance team and eventually returned in the Project team as project officer in charge of monitoring and closing INTERREG IVC projects.  

Before joining Interreg Europe, Verena interned in the “Europe of the Citizen” Department of the French association of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR). Verena graduated in Political Sciences and holds a Master’s degree in European Affairs. She studied a French-German double-diploma in Münster, Germany and in Lille, France. 

Verena speaks German, English, French and has some basic knowledge of Spanish.
