The topic of smart transition of rural and mountain areas is a core one to guarantee equality of opportunities and attractiveness, as well as a sustainable future to less populated areas. Smart Villages as a concept is widely promoted at EU level (EC, ENRD, EUSALP, ...) and should be more widely disseminated in regional policies (in particular in ERDF programmes). As Poliedra we have an ample experience on the topic (eg Interreg Alpine Space Smart Villages and support to local regional authorities) both the methodological point of view and the participatory processes.
