Shared electric mobility in rural areas
Mobility in rural and mountain areas provides many challenges due to them being sparsely populated and not-so-easily accessible. However, some success stories in rural and mountain areas prove that shared electric mobility systems can prove more desirable from an environmental point of view, as well as in terms of competitiveness and accessibility, with respect to privately-owned cars and traditional models of public transport. Recovery Funds provide interesting opportunities also for sustainable mobility in all Member States, therefore the time is ripe also for rural and mountain areas to be centred in policy instruments to be explicitly declined towards shared electric mobility.
