Governance of heatwaves

Thursday 25 November 2021, 14:30 - 15:00, GOVERNANCE

The Centre of Expertise on Global Governance at The Hague University of Applied Sciences would like to find partners for a project on the governance of heatwaves. This entails collaborative governance around the development of local heat health action plans (heatplans) by municipalities, municipal health services, but also NGOs such as the Red Cross and including housing corporations and care organisations, etc. We have studied the process extensively in The Hague, and would like to set up a project in which different local authorities (regional, provincial, municipal) can exchange best practices to learn from each other on how to protect vulnerable populations during heatwaves (e.g. elderly people living at home). We do not yet have a geographical focus beyond The Netherlands.
