Introduction
The 2nd Stakeholder group meeting has been organized in Siena, at the Chamber of Commerce with the presence of some entrepreneurs and representatives of the female entrepreneurship committee.
Sara Bonci started the discussion by giving a presentation of the project. She reminded the stakeholders that the policy instrument is the Multiannual program of the Chamber of Commerce and that the barriers found during the working period were validated.
Summary
Speaking of barriers, Simonetta Repetto, member of the Confesercenti female entrepreneurship committee, underlined as one of the main barriers to the cultural issue, families don't know how to guide children, they lack motivation. In this sense also schools are not well prepared to direct children's lives.
All the women in the room stated that schools and universities are too far away from the work world and they don't provide the necessary orientation courses, moreover fees for the universities are too high and unattractive for the Italian average family.
About the gender policies we mentioned the Smart Work as a solution for the conciliation between family and work and everyone had a positive feeling with that but also we pointed out that some bad examples exist, sometimes this policy can be used at one's advantage and this is not the aim of these instruments.
We stretched again the lack of adequate training and education courses and the problem of the culture, someone said that the coding technique during the first years of school could change the way of thinking.
Another point raised up was that it is very important to create training courses to avoid making them available by the companies,
Cinzia Collodi went deeper explaining the contents of the Donne in quota courses, she said that it is composed of various different parts, (the legal and accountant part, the technical one) but surprisingly the most important is the psychological one because it allows women to empower their role and to create a strong team between them, that could be considered as a solution to the low female solidarity barrier.
Laura Burroni told us two interesting initiatives that the Chamber of Commerce of Siena made up:
- Family-friendly call, together with the province to reward enterprises which adopted gender policies
- Manifesto of the female image on advertising
Conclusion
In conclusion, everyone considers the cultural barrier as the main obstacle for the training and the transfer of competences and awareness since childhood. It would be a solution to involve parents in the training process of their children
